Hudspeth Resigns Coaching Position3/1/2012
Covenant girls' soccer coach Max Hudspeth resigned his coaching position earlier this week. Hudspeth spent nine years coaching in various capacities in the Covenant soccer program. Max began as an assistant coach under John Creighton in the boys' soccer program, was the boys' head coach for one season, and then was Co-Head Coach with Creighton for two seasons. He then took over the girls' program, and had a four-year record of 43-20-10, helping to lead the team to the program's first sectional title and the first regional title in any sport in school history (2011) as well as runners-up to the City title in 2009 and 2010. He was also on the coaching staff for the boys' teams that brought CCHS its first ever sectional (2004) and City titles (2003, 2007, 2008). Hudspeth always felt though that "those accomplishments pale in comparison to the opportunity to help guide young women and young men for the Lord's purpose."
Max also has a long history of coaching background, including work with Indiana ODP, Indy Burn, and the Pike Soccer Club.
CCHS will immediately begin a search for its next girls' soccer coach. All interested parties should be born-again Christian with an intense desire to mentor student athletes and significant soccer experience (coaching and/or playing). If interested, please contact Athletic Director Andy Gossel with a resume and cover letter at andygossel@covenantchristian.org.
